New feedstock recycling method using ionic liquids

We have developed a new depolymerization reaction using ionic liquids, which have unique properties such as non-volatility and less-flammability. This is the first use of the ionic liquids for polymer recycling chemistry in the world. We have currently developed a new conversion of cellulose to glucose using ionic liquids and lithium salt. We have recently developed an efficient conversion of sorbitol to isosrbide in ionic liquids.
