A new green oxidation reaction was developed by using birnessite MnO2. In this procedure we successfully developed a green oxidation reaction using molecular oxygen. Cobalt-doped birnessite plays important role. The oxidation reaction progressed well by the presence of semi-stoichiometrivc amounts of inorganic salt.
